Worship at Rutherglen URC
There are still some changes to our "normal" pattern of worship due to Covid.  Please check the calendar for details of when we are meeting

11am Morning Worship
'TEA Time' - our worship follows a pattern of: Telling the story - Exploring the story - and Affirming the story. In order to do this in creative ways the service can include drama, monologues and activities but we do so within a fairly traditional format. We seek to use inclusive and easily understood language within our worship.

There are activity groups for pre-school and primary school children each Sunday morning. The children gather in the church at 11am before going through to the halls during the service to explore the theme in an age appropriate way. Later in the service they rejoin the adults in worship and show the adults what they have been doing as together we affirm the story.

First Sunday of the Month
10.00am    Early Communion (a short less formal Communion)

[see the calendar for the dates of these as they are not every month]
11.00am    Morning Worship followed by a more formal
communion service. There is a short gap between the Service and Communion to allow anyone who wishes to leave at that point in time to do so.

All are welcome to share in communion as we share the bread and 'wine' in a 'meal of rememberance and thanksgiving'. The bread is gluten free and is eaten when received. The 'wine' (which is grape juice) is retained and all take at the same time when invited to do so.

Fourth Sunday of the Month  our service is sometimes followed by a ’Souper Sunday’ (a soup lunch in the hall organised by the fund-raisers). [see the calendar for the dates of these]
