Welcome to

Rutherglen United Reformed Church

Rutherglen URC seeks
... to be a Christian community which is welcoming and inclusive.
... to be a Christian community which nurtures all within its fellowship.
... to be a Christian community which is 'good news' in the wider community.

Some of the groups in the wider community are listed here

Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Our Moderator, Revd Dr David Pickering has written

“I write in what are unprecedented and challenging times, as we face within our churches and communities, the impact of a developing world-wide pandemic. It is not unnatural for each of us to feel anxious and concerned about the impact on our lives and those of our loved ones, our churches, our communities, those with jobs and particularly those who are most vulnerable in society. Whilst we have individual concerns and belong to a local church, we are also members of the whole URC family. Please be assured that the whole family is seeking to play its part through prayer, plans and deeds, to which we can each contribute.
Whilst our Church and your church may be tested, I hope that we and members of our communities may come to value local church and Christian communities in new ways.”

We in Rutherglen URC in common with many other churches have taken the decision to suspend our Sunday Services until further notice.
This is not a step we have taken lightly but we feel it is the right step to take

The United Reformed Church are offering Sunday services by email.  These will commence this Sunday when, at 10am, a service in both written and audio format will be emailed out. The service will have the feel of a service on the radio in our style with well-known URC people leading worship.  There will be prayers and hymns to join in with as we pray together.  There will also be, from time to time, a chance to share bread and wine together - the first such opportunity will be on Easter Sunday.
Anyone who has email and would like to avail themselves of this form of worship can sign up to receive the Devotions Emails simply go to devotions.urc.org.uk

Please read the information from the NHS.

Church Calendar.

This calendar shows what was planned  before the Corvid-19 pandemic.  It has been left to show our "normal activities"
Please use the contact page to contact the secretary
if you want to check details of anything.

We meet every Sunday at 11:00 and everyone is welcome to come and join us.
Our services offer something for everyone both young and old.

If you've not been to worship with us before, you might like to know the following before you arrive:
There'll be somebody at the front door to welcome you - they're there to help you: ask them about anything you would like to know, from what is going to happen, to where the loo is.
They'll give you what you need for the service, including our weekly intimation sheet - you can take this home with you.
If you arrive after the service has started, and the doors are closed, there is a bell on the right hand door frame. If you press it someone will let you in.

We have a number of documents that might be of interest.  The full list is on this page

We have a weekly intimation sheet.  If you would like to receive this be email please click the link below.
